Croatia
With its centuries-old stone cities, beautiful coasts and beaches, as well as mountainous regions and forests, it’s no wonder Croatia continually ranks high on the list of countries to visit.

Croatia has been on my bucket last for a while and I’ve finally got to visit it towards the end of July 2022, going into August. There are so many different cities you can stay in and places you can visit – Dubrovnik, Split, Zagreb, all come to mind – however, my travels have brought me to the lovely Zadar. Incredible sunsets, uncrowded Roman streets and Sea Organs are just a few of the wonders that awaited me. And after seeing it, I am sure to plan a trip back and explore more of the beautiful country of Croatia. If you’re interested in reading more about it, check out the post below.

Croatia’s varied geography contributes heavily to its diverse weather.
Its coastal side tends to experience Mediterranean climate – hot, dry summers with temperatures up to around 30oC and mild but wet winters.
Its continental part however, tends to have colder winters, with some snow precipitation in the mountain regions.
With this typical European weather pattern, Croatia’s peak visiting months are between June and August. Travellers visiting few months before and after the peak can still avail of the warm and sunny days, while months of November to March might provide opportunity for skiing activities in certain parts of the country.
Croatian is the official language, however English is widely spoken.
Euro (EUR) was introduced in January 2023. Croatian Kuna was used previously.
Type C and F – two round pins/two round pins with earth clips, 230V supply voltage and 50Hz frequency.
I’ve had awful trouble finding shops and restaurants, which accepted card payments, so I’d highly recommend taking cash with you. Additionally, depending on the card you have, ATM withdrawals can be quite pricey due to extra charges that apply.
