Gdańsk is part of Tri-city: together with two other coastal cities, Sopot and Gdynia, they form an urban area within the Pomeranian Voivodeship. Sopot. located between the two others, is the smallest of the three, but still full of charm. Located only 20 minutes train ride from Gdańsk, it makes for a perfect day trip destination!
Though smaller in size, there is still plenty of things to do and see within Sopot. Outside of the beach walks or sea swimming, there are other tourist attractions you should not miss out on.
The Pier

Sopot Pier is the longest wooden pier in Europe. It extends into the Baltic Sea, starting off on Sopot’s beach. Built in the early 1800’s, it is a popular destination for a walk around, which sometimes hosts public entertainment events, particularly during summer months.
Krzywy Domek

Krzywy Domek (Crooked House) was build in the early 2000’s. It is shaped in a funky fashion, inspired by pictures and illustrations from fairy tales. This uniquely designed building is now part of the shopping centre in the heart of Sopot city, housing cafés, clubs, shops, and more.
After having a stroll around, recharge your batteries with some beverages and sweet treats in the E.Wedel’s Pijalnia Czekolady – enjoy the tasty handmade products within this Chocolate Café.

With all this, and so much more which Sopot has to offer, this city is a great destination for a day’s trip, either from Gdańsk itself or from surrounding areas.
