Receive the ‘Gift of the Gab’ thanks to Blarney Stone

Spread the love this Valentine’s day – as well as your partner, consider giving Blarney stone a kiss as well, for a chance to receive The Gift of the Gab.

The Gift of the Gab

-the ability to speak easily and confidently in a way that makes people want to listen to you and believe you;

Cambridge dictionary

Blarney castle was built over 500 years ago by the McCarthys of Muskerry. Blarney castle is a tower house most well known for housing the Blarney Stone, whose legends are plenty. With few variations to read about, I invite you to visit their website to learn more. Whichever you enjoy the most, the power of the stone remains the same – the power of eloquence.

After walking up extremely narrow staircases, once at the top of the castle, you’ll be able to kiss the stone. To do this, you lie backwards over the edge, supported by the lovely staff and a pair of guide rails, and crossbars. You can also have a commemorative picture taken as you do so.

I went to visit this stronghold for the Blarney Stone, but in all honestly, I stayed for the grounds and its gardens. They looked to be shimmering as if with magiv in the rare, Irish sun.

Everything is well kept, from the facilities and services to the information about the structures. The atmosphere all around is tranquil and enjoyable to enjoy.

If you find yourself in Co. Cork and around Cork city, I recommend checking the castle as well as its grounds. It can be an amazing half-day outing, especially in good weather. The pricing can seem like a lot at first (€20 for adult ticket), however once you learn there’s more to see and explore than just a single structure and the stone, it’s well worth it in my opinion.

Make sure not to miss the Fern and the Poison Gardens as you stroll around the lake and river side!
