The first thought I had after downloading Tom Shepherd’s ‘How to Stop Procrastinating’ audiobook was that, picking up and reading this book seems like procrastination in itself.
But I thought, sure what the hell, I’m already not doing the things I’m supposed to be doing, so might as well listed to it anyway. Surprisingly enough, this self-help book actually turned out to be a half decent one, which usually isn’t the case.
It lays out step-by-step process to help deal with procrastination and one of its parts I enjoyed the most was the one aiming to help the reader to stop beating themselves up over not being productive. That is something I myself struggle with a lot and think it’s a good idea to tackle this topic to dive a little bit deeper into the root of the problem.
Author’s personal anecdotes were short and relatable, showcasing his imperfections and the struggles he encountered himself on his journey. Again, as with many other self-help books, do not go into it expecting detailed, scientific or philosophical information. What you’ll find instead are simple to listen to and execute tools and ideas to help you stop procrastinating.
